I’m in the market for a new scan tool for my 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 and hoping for some expert recommendations. Currently, I own a Mac Scout 6250, which has served me well, but the updates are proving to be quite costly at $1,099.00 just to get it to the 2023 software. Without this update, it won’t even read my truck.
My research has led me to consider options like the BlueDriver Bluetooth Professional OBDII Scan Tool and the INNOVA 5610 OBD2 Bidirectional Scan Tool. The appeal of both is their ability to offer repair solutions and suggested fixes, plus they conveniently link to smartphones.
I’m particularly interested in hearing about user experiences with either the BlueDriver or the INNOVA 5610. What are you using for your GM vehicles? If I were to update my existing Mac tool, I’d gain access to updated diagnostics and a repair database, although the repair database access would expire after a year, while the diagnostic capabilities would remain. One thought I had was to update the Mac tool and then also purchase the BlueDriver for around $119.00 to ensure continuous access to repair data. The bidirectional testing features of my Mac tool are definitely something I value.
Any insights or recommendations on the best OBD2 scanner for GM vehicles, especially considering my 2019 GMC Sierra 1500, would be greatly appreciated!
