- Resume / Increase Speed: Get back to your set speed or incrementally increase it.
- Cancel: Instantly disengage cruise control for immediate throttle response.
- SET / Decrease Speed: Engage cruise control and reduce your set speed as needed.
For riders who prefer an even more integrated setup, we offer an optional Custom Cluster Switch (currently out of stock, available April 1st). This throttle-side mounted switch allows for incredibly quick access to cruise controls, maintaining a clean and factory-like aesthetic. This switch is 3D printed from durable ABS plastic and is designed for plug-and-play compatibility with existing installations.
Our cruise control system is also designed to be compatible with a range of motorcycle accessories:
- LED Lights: Fully compatible with aftermarket LED lighting systems, ensuring no electrical conflicts.
- Heated Grips: Works seamlessly with both stock and aftermarket heated grips, maintaining your comfort in all conditions.
- Brake Flashers: Compatible with brake flashers triggered by lever or pedal, but not compatible with motion/deceleration based brake flashers.
Intelligent Cruise Stop Conditions
Safety is paramount, especially on a motorcycle. Our cruise control module is programmed to disengage under multiple conditions, ensuring you always have complete control:
- Engine RPM Limit: Disengages if engine RPM exceeds 6500RPM.
- Brake Activation: Deactivates upon pressing either the front or rear brake.
- Throttle Override: Cancels cruise if the throttle grip is twisted more than 5% beyond the cruise control setting.
- CANBUS Monitoring: Continuously monitors essential CANBUS packets and disengages if any are not updated within 1000 milliseconds, ensuring system integrity.
OBD2 Diagnostic Port Integration and Configuration
Our kit smartly utilizes the Africa Twin OBD2 diagnostic port to gather crucial speed data and other necessary information for smooth and reliable cruise control operation. This connection method simplifies installation and ensures accurate performance.
For diagnostic purposes, you can easily unplug our module, and your bike’s diagnostic port will revert to its standard function, allowing for normal troubleshooting without removing the entire kit.
The module includes a weather-tight USB-C connector, enabling you to customize various settings. You can adjust parameters such as speed increment size, PID gain, and throttle limits to fine-tune the cruise control to your personal riding style and preferences.
Straightforward Installation
Installing this cruise control kit is designed to be manageable for those with basic motorcycle maintenance knowledge. Access to the fuel tank and airbox is required, similar to a standard air filter change. With proper tools, expect an installation time of approximately 1 to 2 hours. The kit utilizes a T-harness to interface with throttle signals and the OBD2 diagnostic connector for speed data. A single T-Tap connection to the brake wire is also necessary.
